Von Spanien aus ging es über einen (für die Noviziatsleitung obligatorischen) Zwischenstopp in Lourdes zu einer Keimzelle dominikanischen Lebens: Prouilhe. Nachdem wir uns bisher chronologisch in der Zeit vor der Ordensgründung aufgehalten haben, war der letzte Teil unserer Reise von den ersten Aktivitäten des Predigerordens geprägt. In Prouilhe gründete Dominikus das erste Frauenkloster des Dominikanerordens, in dem bis heute Moniales leben. Wortwörtlich auf den Spuren des hl. Dominikus wandelten wir, als wir den „Chemin Saint Dominique“ gingen, der von Prouilhe über Wiesen und Felder hoch nach Fanjeaux führte und den Dominikus oft gegangen ist, wenn er vom einen in den anderen Ort wollte. In Fanjeaux, wo Dominikus Seelsorger war, reifte in ihm die Idee der Gründung eines Frauenklosters. Und wie es für dominikanische Orte fast schon unverzichtbar ist, hat man auch hier einen ganz weiten Blick über die Landschaft und kann bei gutem Wetter sogar die schneebedeckten Pyrenäen sehen.
Von Prouilhe aus besuchten wir unsere Brüder in Toulouse, eine weitere Keimzelle des Ordens. Nicht nur weil hier der große Dominikaner Thomas von Aquin beerdigt ist, sondern weil hier der erste Brüderkonvent entstand: Das Haus des Petrus Seila. Er war einer der ersten Gefährten von Dominikus und stellte der Gemeinschaft sein Haus als Konvent zur Verfügung, dessen Kapelle bis heute erhalten ist und in dem man regelrecht den Gründungsgeist atmen kann. Auch besuchten wir Carcassonne, die kleine, historische Stadt, in der Dominikus predigte Mit unseren zeitlosen Ordensgewändern passten wir in der Tat perfekt zum mittelalterlichen Flair der Stadt 😉. Die Predigttätigkeit von Dominikus war hier allerdings von mäßigem Erfolg gekrönt. Doch auch das sollte man nicht vergessen, wenn man sich mit Heiligen befasst: Die ganz gerade Biografie gibt es zum Glück nicht; auch sie haben Misserfolge und Umwege oder Brüche erlebt. Selbst der Gründer des Predigerordens war wohl nicht immer ein glänzender Prediger!
Der letzte Tag der Wallfahrt war für mich nochmal ein echtes Highlight. Nachdem wir uns von den Schwestern in Prouilhe verabschiedet hatten, ging es schon Richtung Heimat. Dabei machten wir Halt im Musée de la Grand Chatreuse, wo wir eine ganz fantastische Ausstellung über den Kartäuserorden besuchten. Ich habe wieder einmal meine „heilige Faszination“ für diese Lebensform entdeckt, die so existenziell auf Gott verweist. Kartäuser beten, wenn die Welt schläft; sie verlassen ihr Kloster nur zum wöchentlichen Spaziergang und leben ihre Beziehung zu Gott überwiegend in der Stille ihrer Zelle. Wie ein Rahmen, begonnen bei den Zellen in La Tourette bis zu den Zellen der Kartäuser, steht die Frage für mich am Beginn und am Ende der Wallfahrt: Was und Wie viel brauche ich wirklich?
Ganz in der Nähe der Kartause, in Chalais, wohnen dominikanische Moniales in einer atemberaubenden Landschaft. Schon praktisch, wenn man so schönen Orten Familie hat 😉 Chalais war ein wunderbarer Abschluss unserer Reise. Hier das mehrstimmige Stundengebet in der schlichten, aber schönen Kirche zu singen, ließ das Herz höherschlagen.
